1/3 Cup Shortening
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Molasses
1/2 Cup Water
2 Cups Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp Ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 1/2 tbsp milk
Mix shortening, sugar, egg, molasses, and water thoroughly. Stir in remaining ingredients and blend well. Chill dough. Spoon dough onto cookie sheet and swirl around. Bake at 400' and top with icing.
